Empowering Parents

A commentary on MacLean's article.

Parents have the chance to fulfill thier desire to raise children who thrive and are conscious, empathetic and motivated by relating authentically with them. To really be able to do this a parent really needs to feel strength in themselves. You can not teach what you don’t know. If you want your child to be empowered you first need to be empowered. If you want your child to be calm and respectful you first need to be calm and respectful. If children are going to relate in a way that brings out the best in them, their family and others then parents need to model this first. As a parent becomes more conscious with thier parenting the will be able to learn the tools need to help their child develop skills that bring success, happiness and a positive way of relating.
