Being Able to Act With Compassion
Living from the inside out in the area of love and compassion means to care for yourself first and then feel the love and support in your being.
If you are able to feel a warm embrace from yourself, enjoy a feeling of compassion, speak kindly and act gently towards yourself then you will reveal how to extend this to others as well.
The basis of this is learning that you are already a whole person who has these qualities within. These are not qualities that some people possess and others do not. If you would like to shed any harshness to discover your own compassion be certain that this possibility is available to you.
You treat yourself differently at different times but how would you really like to be treated. You are trained on some level to believe that that you deserve to be treated severely because it will give you strength. Take a minute to think how would you like to feel in a perfect world. Would you to be judged or respected? Would you like people to tell you your preferences or ask you what they are?
What you want from others is what you can give to yourself.
Once you are in touch with your self you will naturally want to allow others the same feeling. This is when it becomes possible to go even one step past treating others the way you would like to be treated to treating others the way they would like to be treated. Acknowledging that each person has their own set of needs and releasing the need to place your notions onto them.
The ability to speak and act with compassion comes from uncovering your diamond in the rough. If you are able to move away what is blocking your diamond you will be able to shine. There are many aspects of life that make this difficult. The stresses that arise everyday and the expectations you place on yourself and feel from your surroundings keep you from being able to tap into your true nature. They leave you in a reactionary mode of operation.
If you were able to feel less busy and overwhelmed you would be able to have a peaceful feeling that allows you to be in the moment and notice what is important to you. This also allows you to be present to the interactions you are having with others and make them more meaningful.
By bringing awareness to your heart throughout the day you will begin to listen to yourself. If you do this during your interactions with others you will extend kindness to them as well. An open heart allows you to be kind to yourself, and to others. It also allows supportive environments to be created so that levels of compassion within our homes and lives can grow.
