December 29, 2015 Creating Time Over the Holidays

A value that has kept coming back to me is one of spending more time relaxing with family over the holidays and less time out in the world being a consumer during this season. It has taken a while to get to a place where I feel like my actions are meeting up with my values in this area. I decided not to buy any presents this year. It was difficult for me to get over all the guilt that came along with this but I decided that I would experiment anyway. I wanted to find out what the Christmas season really meant to me. What I found out was beautiful. My children were as happy as ever before. We had more time to relax together because shopping for this and that takes a lot of time that we didn’t have to waste. We are also enjoying that Christmas is a bit different but lovely because we are in the moment enjoying what each moment brings.
